Summer is for Swimming & Spritzers

Hi everyone!
I hope you all are enjoying your summer. All things are good on our end.
Corrina hasn't been in the hospital for over 4 months now! Woohoo!! We're enjoying the beautiful weather and have been taking advantage of any and every opportunity to get outside. Corrina usually has twice-daily walks (morning and afternoon, split up with a healthy midday nap...ah the life) and now that she has graduated from the Live Strong Program at the Wheeler YMCA, we have more time to take in the sunshine.
Claudia continues to find wonderful structure for Corrina to build her strength and keep her body moving. Corrina recently joined a restorative, immersive water program at Mt. Sinai Rehab (Zen Water, I believe it's called, but it should be Agua-Shavasana 😅). I had the joy of attending the class with her and Claudia today and was able to film a bit of it. Corrina explodes with joy in the water (as do I). We both love swimming and, forgive me if this is TMI, but our first kiss was floating far out in the ocean - it was probably the best kiss of both of our lives (right, honey?!)
Corrina hadn't been in water since prior to her diagnosis, so the excitement she felt when getting in for the first time was incredible. She was beaming. There is nothing like the healing quality of water. It is so therapeutic and it holds us in near-weightlessness. It's as if we have detached from our bodies and the weight of gravity (and the grind of daily life).
Continuing on the thread of semi-escaping, Corrina has a new found love of wine- spritzers (Claudia too). We all know that we'd probably get our hands slapped by the neuro-oncology team to be publishing this, but heck, it's summer, right?! We are enjoying each other and our time to the fullest, living our absolute best lives.
Here's to feeling the sun shine on all of our faces and healing water wash over us. Corrina, Claudia, and I send you all so much love.
