Father's Day Wish

An update on Corrina's status. I was able to spend 11 days with her at the beginning of this month. She had just finished Round 5 of chemotherapy very successfully, with limited nausea, when another couple of infections started, one at the original biopsy site. As usual, Corrina has endured this latest threat to her health with strength and courage. She keeps on going despite discomfort and uncertainty and always makes my visits enjoyable. She continues to maintain a very robust schedule with therapy (thanks to Claudia and fabulous supportive friends) and short outings, see the photo. Each week has its own rhythm. Last weekend we went for a hike at the reservoir. When Corrina gets tired she hops in the three-wheeler with David providing the main motive force and Claudia and I giving encouragement. Really beautiful calm day.
Whenever I visit I experience a sense of unwavering patience, courage and support exhibited by Corrina’s mom and fiancé, David, toward her which, she in turn, reflects back. This energy provides me with support also. I knew it was there all the time but it just became more clear this visit how dedicated they are to her and there is only one possible explanation, pure Love. I guess I have never witnessed it so obvious and profound.
Father’s Day is this weekend and I am very fortunate to be able to share it with my son and grandson but my daughter continues to give the greatest gifts. I am very proud of her. Happy Father’s day to all the other Dad’s and please realize what precious gifts your children are.
