Dog Days of Summer

We've been enjoying summer - even those days that were hot, steamy and sticky. Corrina continues to set the bar higher and higher each and every day. A few days ago, Corrina said "this isn't it" for her, which continues to echo in my mind. I must remind myself on a daily basis (sometimes minute by minute) to stay in the present. It's so easy to wander off into the past and the future and miss out on what's happening in the moment.

Thanks to Susan and Dan, all of us were at Water's Edge for 3 nights when Dylan and family arrived on the East Coast for a week long visit a couple weeks ago. This was Corrina's first time away from home base which was successful and encourages us to plan more trips away.

In July there were a few day trips to Bantam Lake, thanks to Alison for giving us a key to her Bees Nest cottage. There's nothing like water, sand and a sunny day to fill you with joy and hope.

Spritzers are still our go to evening beverage but we will be looking for something warm and soothing once autumn comes around. Taking suggestions . . .

P.S. Twenty years ago on August 14th I married the best man ever. I love you, Mr. Johnson.
